Pan

Pan Qi Qun was born and raised in China, and is currently based in Los Angelos, California. As an artist, Pan combines styles from both the East and West, developing his own brand of abstract expressionism. His influences include the Big field, Hard Edge and other experimental art movements of the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, as well as, abstract expressionist painters, Joan Mitchell, Elaine de Kooning, Grace Hartigan, and Gerhard Richter. Citing this first generation of abstract expressionist painters, Pan began his search for his own artistic voice in the early 1980’s, in which he pursued color expression, use of collage, overlapping color patterns and other visual elements.
